The Runner's Wave Campaign

I've never owned a Jeep, but I have always wanted one - especially a yellow Wrangler.

Yeah, I can't figure out why either.

I'm not really a Jeep type of guy...

I don't own anything from REI, I shave every day, love keeping doors on cars, don't own a sleeping bag, can't live without A/C, and the closest off-roading I do is driving through a puddle.

Truth is, I've always wanted to do...

 The Jeep Wave

You know The Jeep Wave. It's when two Jeep Wrangler drivers acknowledge each other through a bonding hand gesture as they drive by.

Well, I want to start The Runner's Wave Campaign

Where all runners show love to their fellow runner!

Why not???

Yes, they may be slower, less fit, and have cheaper running shoes...

BUT they are overheating, sweating, panting, struggling, aching, slowing down, wishing it was over, and hating life - just like you!

Let's start the Runner's Wave as an honor to bestow upon those people with the superior intelligence, taste, class, and discomfort tolerance to participate in the ultimate exercise - running.

I have even thought up the perfect runner's wave to capture true feelings of all runners....

Spread the love on today's run!

Always do the wave, running or biking to other runners and bikers.

Something to ponder, though, I've noticed that runners are less likely to reciprocate to bikers and vice versa. I think there's some kind of exercise superiority complex in the streets of America.

What's up with that?

Phenomenal, Jeff.

We need more guys like you!

Of course there are superiority complexes outside of the gym...the same happens inside the gym.

Did you see my post, 'Is Your Gym Like A High School Cafeteria'?

I dive into it more!

Good post from November, but I gotta wonder if you hanging out at my gym? Guess I didn't hide my sleeping bag behind the treadmill well enough!

Here in Richmond, VA's west end, we take the Runner's Wave a step further -- it's almost alway accompanied by "Mornin'" (or "Afternoon" if you're a late runner).
